Chicago Bears Training Camp: Kyler Gordon continues to impress on Day 3
Chicago Bears rookie CB Kyler Gordon continued his hot start at Bears training camp on day three of practices …
Chicago Bears rookie cornerback Kyler Gordon has been one of the biggest stars at training camp. He’s received high marks from veteran players and coaches, and on Friday’s practice, he started team drills with an impact play.
Gordon intercepted a Justin Fields pass intended for wide receiver Darnell Mooney.

Gordon already made an impression on Mooney before his impressive back-to-back reps against the Bears’ WR1.
“He’s patient. He’s confident,” Mooney said Thursday. “And he understands that he has good feet, quick feet, and trusts his feet as well. Sometimes when you get a guy who touches a lot, he doesn’t trust his feet. Kyler trusts his feet a lot.”

Kyler Gordon lined up as the nickel cornerback Thursday but was back as an outside corner to begin Friday’s practice. His versatility is exciting, especially when it comes to that nickel role. It’s one of the critical positions on coach Matt Eberflus’ defense, and it’s an opportunity Gordon is excited about.

“You just get to be more like the run game, just a different job,” Gordon said this week. “I feel like me at nickel, I’m just a twitchy dude so I just like to react a bunch. I just enjoy it and be able to be in the run fit, too. Just a lot of different things I can do there and to really show all of my abilities. I enjoy nickel.”
Not to be outdone, fellow rookie defensive back, Jaquan Brisker, grabbed an interception of his own Friday.

The combination of Kyler Gordon and Brisker should have all Bears fans very excited about the secondary in 2022.
