2022 NFL Power Rankings: The Chicago Bears will begin the 2022 NFL season as one of the lowest ranked teams in the …
The Chicago Bears’ 2022 season kicks off in less than one week, and oh boy, does that feel really good to write. But it’s not all rainbows and butterflies in Bears land, especially when it comes to the NFL Power Rankings published on the eve of Week 1.
Here’s a quick whip around some major media outlets’ power rankings as the 2022 season inches closer. As the year unfolds, we’ll shrink the list of power rankings we take a look at each week, and we’ll publish our own at the end of each quarter of the NFL calendar.
For now, let’s check out where the Bears rank in some 2022 NFL Power Rankings:

The Ringer
No. 29
“The Bears didn’t win a playoff game under Matt Nagy, and after a 6-11 season in 2021, Chicago decided to start over. Now the Bears press forward with first-year general manager Ryan Poles and rookie head coach Matt Eberflus, a duo charged with a long-term rebuild. They have a talented quarterback prospect in Justin Fields but I’d argue he’s been put in an unfair situation in 2022. The Bears don’t have question marks along the offensive line or in the receiving corps, they have flat-out problems, and the lack of talent in both of those units will make it very difficult for Poles and Eberflus to fairly evaluate Fields.”

ESPN
No. 25
“The Bears hired a first-time head coach (Matt Eberflus) and didn’t help Fields by adding playmakers or upgrading the offensive line. There will be few games this season in which the Bears won’t be underdogs.”

Yahoo
No. 28
“A 3-0 preseason included a brilliant game from quarterback Justin Fields in the exhibition finale against the Browns. As long as the Bears leave the 2022 season with clarity at quarterback and head coach, they’ll be on the right track.”

Bleacher Report
No. 30
“The Chicago Bears will go as far as quarterback Justin Fields takes them. But the perception from most on the outside is that the team hasn’t exactly put the quarterback in position to succeed. Aside from running back David Montgomery and wide receiver Darnell Mooney, the skill-position talent isn’t scaring anyone. The offensive line is shaky enough that Chicago claimed Raiders flameout Alex Leatherwood off waivers.”
