3 Bears players to watch in Week 2 matchup vs. Packers
Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers: Here are three Bears players to watch in Week 2’s Sunday Night Football game against the Packers …
The Chicago Bears are undefeated going into a Week 2 primetime matchup at Lambeau Field. Sure, it’s only been one week, but who’s counting?
The Bears defeated the 49ers in a Sunday afternoon slop fest in Week 1 behind touchdowns from Khalil Herbert, Dante Pettis, and Equanimeous St. Brown. Bears fans didn’t expect to see these three names on the score sheet, so let’s look at the dark horse candidates who could lead the Bears to another victory in Week 2’s Sunday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers.

TE Ryan Griffin
Griffin may be listed second on the depth chart, but it’s clear he will be a part of this offense. Griffin saw 53% of the Bears’ offensive snaps in Week 1 and even out-targeted starter Cole Kmet two to one. The Packers are likely to adjust their defensive strategy after being dominated by Justin Jefferson, which should lead to increased opportunities for the Bears’ tight ends. Kmet and Griffin should both see better numbers, but I expect Griffin to make the second Lambeau Leap of his 10-year career.

WR Byron Pringle
Pringle was the headline free agent of, what many considered, a lackluster offseason by the new Chicago Bears front office. Pringle gives the Bears receiving corps a speed element they’ve lacked for years. And it’s that speed that should cause problems for the Packers’ defense Sunday night.
The Bears’ new offense is built on getting playmakers in space and letting them do the rest. Pringle will benefit the most from this style of play. He may not find the end zone, but expect fireworks from BP13.

SAF Jaquan Brisker
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has made a career of picking on young defensive backs, but Brisker seems up for the task of taking on the Hall-of-Fame gunslinger. Brisker played every snap in Week 1 and made his presence known. His four tackles didn’t light up the stat sheet, but his fumble recovery and all-around eye test were much more telling.
Brisker consistently showed high-level instincts and put himself in positions to succeed. I expect more of the same in Week 2. It wouldn’t surprise me if Brisker snags his first NFL interception.
