Chicago Bears Prop Bets: Week 6 vs. Commanders

It’s a short week with the Chicago Bears playing Thursday night against the Washington Commanders. The Bears showed promise in the second half against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5, and they’re bringing momentum into their matchup against the Commanders despite last week’s loss.

Speaking of momentum, we’re coming off our first undefeated week in this Prop Bets column. After a 3-0 performance on Sunday, we are now 9-4 overall this year. Let’s keep this momentum and keep making some money.

Here are your best Chicago Bears prop bets for Week 6.

Darnell Mooney over 44.5 receiving yards (-110)

Mooney finally saw success downfield on Sunday in Minnesota. Also, Justin Fields completed a season-high 15 passes against the Vikings, and I expect the Bears to build off that. Additionally, the Commanders’ pass defense is not one to be feared.

Opportunities will present themselves for Mooney to get open and operate in space. Plan for a combination of screens and intermediate routes to let Mooney use his speed and agility as a weapon. This is a complete get-right week. The Bears will have plenty of chances to work on their offense, and Mooney is first in line to get going.

Carson Wentz over 0.5 interceptions (-125)

Let’s face the facts: Carson Wentz is bad. The Bears’ defense has been fairly good this season, excluding the first half in Minnesota. Wentz has six interceptions through the first five weeks and shows no signs of stopping.

Ideally, Wentz will throw the ball a lot on Thursday night because he’s playing from behind. Even if his pass attempts are limited, I feel confident in him throwing an interception. The Bears will have success pressuring Wentz and forcing him to make bad decisions. I love the potential for the Bears’ defense this week. Throw in the orange jerseys/helmets, and it all points to a defensive spectacle.

Justin Fields over 221.5 passing + rushing yards (-115)

Fields looked stellar in the second half on Sunday. He looked comfortable throwing and running the ball as the Bears mounted their comeback attempt. After this performance, there is no reason to think he won’t play well again. As the offensive line struggles, he will keep escaping the pocket and taking off downfield. His willingness and ability to take off give the offense an extra dimension keeping defensive coordinators up at night. Finally, the Bears will open up the playbook and let these players play. Thursday night will be a coming-out party for the Bears offense.
