2022 Season
Experts think Bears have no chance against Cowboys in Week 8
Here’s who the experts think will win the Chicago Bears vs. Dallas Cowboys Week 8 matchup. Spoiler: the Bears are big underdogs …
If the 2022 NFL season ended today, the Dallas Cowboys (5-2) would be in the playoffs as the second wild-card team. The Chicago Bears (3-4) remain “in the hunt,” and a win over the Cowboys in Week 8 will turn a season that once looked like a race for a top-three pick in the 2023 NFL Draft into an exciting run for a playoff bid.
But before Bears fans get too excited, their matchup against the Cowboys is viewed as a lopsided mismatch. At least, that’s what the experts are predicting. According to NFL Pick Watch, 96% of experts polled picked Dallas to win the game.
It would seem the oddsmakers in Las Vegas agree with those experts. The Cowboys are 10-point home favorites. But it’s worth noting that Chicago has been pretty lucky in this matchup recently. They’ve won four of the last six meetings dating back to 2010, including a 31-24 win in 2019.
The most significant advantage in this game — on paper — is the Cowboys’ defense against the Bears’ offense. Dallas is surrendering less than 15 points per game, which ranks second in the NFL. Chicago’s struggles on offense have been well documented before Week 7’s 33-point explosion against the New England Patriots. It’s difficult to imagine another outing like that with Micah Parsons haunting Justin Fields on every pass attempt.
