Here’s the latest from Halas Hall on Justin Fields’ shoulder injury
Halas Hall Update: Here’s what Bears coach Matt Eberflus told the media about quarterback Justin Fields’ shoulder injury
To steal a line from Lloyd Christmas in the classic comedy Dumb and Dumber, “so you’re telling me there’s a chance!”
That’s the initial reaction most Chicago Bears fans will have after coach Matt Eberflus met with the media at Halas Hall on Wednesday and provided an update on QB Justin Fields’ injured left shoulder.
Eberflus said Fields was cleared by the Bears’ medical team to return to practice and remains day-to-day with a left shoulder injury. He’ll be a limited participant in Wednesday’s walkthrough.
“(It’s) what the medical staff is saying to him and to us every single day,” Eberflus said. “And then it’s how he’s feeling — how he’s feeling when he’s moving, when he’s throwing and when he’s going about his business of operating as a quarterback.”
Eberflus wouldn’t say whether Fields will wear a sling if he plays Sunday against the New York Jets.
“We’ll see where it goes,” Eberflus said. “We’ll see. (Thursday) will be more of a faster-paced (practice). We’ll see when he’s moving full speed during that time and during our drill work. We’ll be able to tell.”

Eberflus confirmed Fields’ injury wouldn’t end his season, which is a big win for the Bears and their rebuild. Fields needs as much experience as he can get in 2022, as long as there’s no risk of long-term damage to his shoulder.
It seems safe to assume Fields, at the very least, will be back on the field for Week 13’s showdown against the Green Bay Packers.
