Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s Week 12 game against the New York Jets, coach Matt Eberflus said Friday.
“He’s feeling better every single day,” Eberflus said.
Fields has been a limited participant in practice this week due to a left shoulder injury he sustained in the final possession of Week 11’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Bears will monitor Fields’ health over the next two days and decide if he’s well enough to suit up against a Jets defense that’s one of the best in the NFL.
“My preference is to play if he’s 100 percent ready to play. That’s my preference,” Eberflus added.
Fields said earlier this week that whether or not he plays in Week 12 is his call. However, the Bears have to protect him from himself and not send him into a difficult matchup if he can’t make his signature plays.
Fields has thrown for 1,642 yards, run for 834 yards, and combined for 20 total touchdowns in 2022.
The Bears vs. Jets Week 12 game is scheduled to kick off at 1:00 p.m. EST from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
