2023 NFL Draft: No. 1 overall pick down to Bears and Texans

It’s official: the Chicago Bears are one of two teams in position for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Only the Bears and Houston Texans can finish the 2022 season with the top pick, according to the NFL.

There’s only one way the Bears can secure the No. 1 pick: a loss to the Minnesota Vikings and a Texans win over the Indianapolis Colts.

A Bears’ tie and a Texans win would still result in Houston being awarded the first pick.

Texans coach Lovie Smith is on the hot seat and, regardless of Week 18’s outcome, could be let go by Houston at the season’s end. So, why not give Chicago one more “W,” coach?

It’s safe to say Bears fans will wear a shade of Texans blue Sunday.
