REPORT: Bears expected to pursue offensive linemen in free agency
Chicago Bears Free Agency: The Chicago Bears are expected to pursue the top free agent offensive linemen this offseason, according to …
The 2023 NFL Draft season is in full swing now that the Senior Bowl is in the books. The NFL Combine is next in late February, and the free agency rumors spread between agents and media members come with it.
The Chicago Bears rumor mill is off to an early start. According to The Athletic’s Kevin Fishbain, a league source believes that general manager Ryan Poles will actively pursue this year’s free-agent offensive linemen. And while this may be like stating the obvious, it’s encouraging to know Poles has a good grasp of the roster’s weak areas.
One of the top free-agent offensive linemen in the upcoming free-agency period will be on display in Super Bowl LVII. Orlando Brown Jr., the starting left tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs, is considered the top offensive tackle on the open market. The Bears have the most salary cap space in the league and a need at offensive tackle. And Poles was part of the Chiefs’ front office that traded for Brown.
It seems like a logical conclusion to assume Poles will be all over Brown once the bell goes off.
Other offensive linemen who will be on Ryan Poles’ speed dial include 49ers offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey, Jaguars tackle Jawaan James, and Eagles guard Isaac Seumalo.
