NFC North: Aaron Rodgers is headed to the New York Jets (News)

No, you didn’t read that headline wrong. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is going on a four-day, four-night darkness retreat to help him decide his playing future.

Rodgers’ marriage with the Packers appears to be ending this offseason, and there will be no shortage of suitors for the former NFL MVP. Teams like the New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders, and perhaps the San Francisco 49ers all make sense.

But Rodgers’ future will first be decided by him. And he’ll apparently do it in the dark.

For the second offseason in a row, Packers fans are finding out just how frustrating Aaron Rodgers can be. Bears fans know the feeling all too well. The Hall-of-Fame signal-caller has, admittedly, owned Chicago. Rodgers has a 24-5 record against the Bears and has thrown 64 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions in the rivalry.

“I’m still in the art of contemplation about my future,” Rodgers said. “It’s going to be important to get through this week and to take my isolation retreat and to just be able to contemplate all things my future and then make a decision that I feel like is best for me moving forward and is in the highest interest of my happiness and move forward.”

So, yeah, Chicago Bears fans don’t mind Aaron Rodgers going into some dark cave somewhere. If he emerges from the darkness as a starting quarterback for a non-NFC North team? It’ll be the Bears’ first big win of 2023.

“There’s no sounds. It’s just sitting in isolation, meditation, dealing with your thoughts,” Rodgers said. “I’m really looking forward to it.”
