Bears taking interesting approach to assess draft prospects’ competitiveness at NFL combine
Chicago Bears GM Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus shared what their unique take on NFL Combine player meetings is in 2023…
Who knew the two most important evaluation tools the Chicago Bears would use during the 2023 NFL Combine are darts and a putting green.
Yep. Darts and a putting green.
General manager Ryan Poles and coach Matt Eberflus sat with NFL Network’s Peter Schrager, revealing that their prospect meetings at the NFL Combine begin with fun and games. Players compete against coaches in darts and a putting contest to loosen them up and get a feel for their competitive fire.
The Chicago Bears need to level up the culture in the locker room in the same way they need to upgrade the talent on the roster. Ideally, they’ll identify players who can do both. Perhaps, hitting a bullseye or a hole-in-one makes that job a little easier.
