2023 NFL Draft: 4 teams the Chicago Bears could trade back with and what they’d get in return
The Chicago Bears are open to trading the No. 9 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Here are four teams that would make sense as draft trade partners.
The Chicago Bears already pulled off a blockbuster 2023 NFL Draft trade. In case you’ve forgotten, GM Ryan Poles sent the No. 1 pick to the Carolina Panthers for the No. 9 and a bounty of additional selections.
And wide receiver DJ Moore.
It was a job well done by the Bears, but they may not be finished trading just yet.
There’s been significant smoke around the idea of the Chicago Bears trading the No. 9 pick. It’s unlikely Poles would slide back too far in Round 1, but if one of the top quarterback prospects falls, another trade opportunity will present itself.
Four teams immediately stick out as potential trade partners. Here’s who they are and what a trade could land the Bears in return.
Note: I’m using the Rich Hill trade chart to determine what each trade would net the Chicago Bears.

Tennessee Titans, No. 11
Trading with the Titans would allow the Bears to remain in striking distance for a premier offensive lineman. But it would also net the lowest return.
The difference between the No. 9 and 11 picks is only 29 points. That equates to an early fourth-round selection. Adding a fourth-round pick while still landing a starting right tackle would be a fine strategy.

Washington Commanders, No. 16
Trading with the Commanders would put the Chicago Bears in danger of missing out on an offensive tackle. But it would also net a mid-third-round pick. The difference of 62 points is the valuation of the 76th selection
If the Commanders have a big enough grade on a quarterback who falls to No. 9, it’s within a range of outcomes that the Bears could add a third-round pick in 2023 to move back seven spots.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers, No. 19
The Buccaneers are entering Year 1 of life without Tom Brady. They could get desperate for a quarterback on draft day.
Sliding from No. 9 to 19 is a difference of 109 points. That’s a selection just outside the top 50 (No. 52 overall).
The bad news is the top offensive tackles will certainly be gone by No. 19. Chicago would be left with the second tier of first-round edge rushers or one of the top wide receivers.

Baltimore Ravens, No. 22
The Ravens could be a team to watch in the race for a quarterback in the 2023 NFL Draft. It seems unlikely that Lamar Jackson will be back in Baltimore, and if a passer like Will Levis falls to No. 9, the Ravens could pounce.
Dropping from No. 9 to 22 is a difference of 134 points. It equates to a selection just outside the top 40. The Ravens don’t have a second-round pick in 2023 (the Chicago Bears have it), making this a potential 2024 second-round pick… and then some.
