Khalil Herbert can make his case for more carries in Week 2 vs. Packers (2022 Season)

EA Sports shared more Madden 24 ratings Wednesday, featuring offensive linemen and running backs in the latest reveal.

Given the inexcusably bad protection the Chicago Bears gave Justin Fields in 2022, I expected some pretty low ratings for most of the Bears’ offensive line. However, I figured a historic rushing attack would get the team’s likely RB1, Khalil Herbert, a rating in the mid-80s.

Even my low expectations were somewhat disappointed when I dug into the grades. No Bears running back or offensive lineman cracked 80.

Here are the Chicago Bears’ Madden 24 ratings for the offensive line and running backs.

Offensive line

Cody Whitehair (79), Teven Jenkins (78), Braxton Jones (76), Nate Davis (76), Darnell Wright (74), Lucas Patrick (71), Larry Borom (67), Alex Leatherwood (65), Ja’Tyre Carter (63), Doug Kramer (62), Kellen Diesch (62), and Dieter Eiselen (60)

Running backs

D’onta Foreman (77), Khalil Herbert (77), Khari Blasingame (72), Roschon Johnson (70), Travis Homer (70), and Trestan Ebner (65)

I thought our defensive line ratings were rough, this is a bloodbath.

Chicago Bears

Bears’ offensive line has a lot to prove in 2023

Even though the Chicago Bears’ offensive line was among the worst in the league last season, some of their Madden 24 ratings feel too harsh.

Nate Davis has been a highly regarded Guard since joining the league, and some considered Darnell Wright the top offensive tackle prospect in the 2023 NFL draft. I thought both deserved a grade in the 80s but ended up with mid-70s ratings.

The sting of Wright receiving such a mediocre rating subsided a little when I looked at other rookie offensive linemen.

Only two rookies, Paris Johnson Jr. and Peter Skoronski, had higher ratings, at 77 and 76, respectively. I guess the folks at EA Sports don’t typically rate rookie linemen very highly, so at least they’re being consistent.

D'Onta Foreman

Madden 24 running back ratings unkind to Bears

The Madden 24 ratings for running backs were genuinely shocking for me.

D’Onta Foreman is coming off a career year, picking up nearly 1,000 scrimmage yards in a year where he started just nine games and averaged 4.5 yards per carry.

Khalil Herbert was even more impressive, racking up almost 800 scrimmages yards despite being the backup for all but one game, ending the year with a league-leading 5.7 yards per carry.

Saddling both of these guys with a 77 rating is too low, even for a Bears team that has yet to prove much on the field. Hopefully, many of these Bears make the ratings guys at EA Sports look silly starting on September 10th against the Green Bay Packers.

EA Sports will release Madden 24 ratings for cornerbacks and tight ends Thursday. Cole Kmet and Jaylon Johnson should earn decent scores.
