4 Players to watch in Bears vs. Bills Week 3 preseason game
Chicago Bears Preseason, Week 3: These four players will be under the spotlight in Bears vs. Bills preseason game.
The Chicago Bears will play their final preseason game at home on Saturday against the Buffalo Bills. Head coach Matt Eberflus announced that the starters would play, though he did not specify how many snaps they would get. This will be their last chance to work out on-field issues before the regular season starts on Sept. 10.
This is also the last chance for depth players to prove to the coaches that they belong on the active roster.
Every reserve Bears player wants to play the best game of their lives against the Bills, and it’s why these preseason games have so much meaning. Sure, it isn’t the best brand of football, but there’s passion and intensity on every snap. Football purists love it.
There are a few players on the Chicago Bears who will play with a little more urgency on Saturday, including these four who top my list.

What looked like a fantastic backup quarterback signing earlier this year has quickly become a problem for Chicago.
Walker has been bad since joining the Bears, both in practice and in preseason games. On top of that, the other quarterbacks on the roster have outperformed him week in and week out.
We don’t know how many snaps Walker will get against the Bills, but he needs to make the absolute most out of them. I think it’s currently a long, long shot that he gets cut from the roster, but putting up another stinker while the other quarterbacks succeed will make that a stark possibility.

On the other side of the quarterback coin is Tyson Bagent. He’s been a fan favorite these past two weeks, deservedly.
In two preseason games, he’s 13/15 passing for 113 yards, 1 rushing touchdown, and no turnovers. He’s looked calm, accurate, and in control of the offense.
Many fans want Bagent on that 53-man roster, and I feel he’s already made a strong case to be included. He has one more chance to make an impression on coaches before cutdown day, and turning in another strong performance that puts touchdowns on the board will make it very hard to cut him and potentially allow another team to acquire his services.

Doug Kramer
With injuries running rampant across the offensive line, some guys are getting more chances to step up. One of them is second-year center Doug Kramer.
Kramer should start Saturday and get extended work against a quality defensive line.
A 2022 7th-round draft pick, Kramer missed all of last season with an injury, so this has been his first real chance to impress Bears coaches.
A good game from Kramer could force GM Ryan Poles to consider if they still need a relatively expensive veteran like Lucas Patrick.

Rasheem Green
Despite some good practices early in training camp, Rasheem Green has failed to make much of an impact in preseason games thus far. He’s part of a crowded defensive end group led by Yannick Ngakoue and, unlike his peers, has not impacted the stat sheet.
Trevis Gipson had himself a resurgence game against the Tennessee Titans, and newcomers like Terrell Lewis have been getting after the quarterback. Green will need one heck of a performance on Saturday if he wants to make the final roster.
