2023 NFL Draft: Bears remain near top of first round after loss to Bills
The Chicago Bears lost to the Bills in Week 16, but their 2023 NFL Draft first-round pick didn’t lose any ground. Here’s where they pick…
For the second week in a row, the Chicago Bears played one of the NFL’s top teams tougher than their record would indicate. Saturday’s loss to the AFC East-leading Buffalo Bills was again proof that the Bears aren’t far from becoming a legitimate playoff team.
The 2023 NFL Draft will get them closer to reaching that goal.
Saturday’s loss dropped the Bears to 3-12 on the season and kept them in the driver’s seat for the second-overall pick.
The Bears’ first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft is nearly assured of being a top-10 selection. Week 16’s loss to the Bills was an expected outcome, and with games against the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions remaining, it’s unlikely Chicago will end the year with two-straight wins.
At best, the Chicago Bears will hold the No. 2 pick. At worst, they’ll pick 7th or 8th. Regardless of where their first-round pick settles, the Bears will add a blue-chip upgrade — likely on defense — with their first selection.
