Chicago Bears 53-man roster: Updated list of players who’ve been released
Chicago Bears 53-man roster: Here’s an updated list of which players have been released ahead of the August 29 deadline.
The Chicago Bears 53-man roster will be filed with the NFL on August 29, but leaks of names who’ve already been given their pink slips are making the rounds on social media.
General manager Ryan Poles has cut ties with several players so far. Here’s the updated list:
QB PJ Walker
OL Alex Leatherwood
OL Gabe Houy
DL Bravin Roy
OL Kellen Diesch
OL Logan Steinberg
OL Bobby Haskins
LB Davion Taylor
DT Andrew Brown
CB Michael Ojemudia
WR Daurice Fountain
TE Lachlan Pitts
WR Nsimba Webster
LB Barrington Wade
OT Aviante Collins
RB Trestan Ebner
LB DeMarquis Gates
TE Stephen Carlson
RB/FB Robert Burns
The most surprising name on this list is Walker, who undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent beat out for the Bears’ backup quarterback spot.
Leatherwood is a former first-round pick who failed to develop since joining the Bears off waivers in 2022. The additions of Darnell Wright and Nate Davis made him expendable, and at this point in his career, you have to wonder if his time in the NFL is done.
We’ll continue updating the Bears’ roster decisions as news becomes available.
