Chicago Bears Preseason: Stock up, Stock Down after Week 2 loss to Colts (News)

Keep your fingers crossed, Bears fans. The Chicago Bears will be relatively healthy (except for left guard Teven Jenkins) in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers.

Much can change over the next 10 days, but according to coach Matt Eberflus, the Bears expect an entire squad — sans Jenkins — on Sept. 10.

“Everybody looks to be healthy right now,” Eberflus said Tuesday. “Looks good … Again, we’ll work through that process as we go.”

Jenkins was officially placed on injured reserve Wednesday, but the Bears and Eberflus have known for several days that they’d be without his services. Jenkins’ injury sparked the team’s decision to trade for Dan Feeney, a veteran with experience starting along the interior of the offensive line.

“Everything looks good,” Eberflus said. “We’re getting guys in. We had nice, long walk-through meetings yesterday (Monday).

‘They’re ramping up. Guys that are out are starting to do a lot of land-based stuff. Getting into speeds and cuts and moving around. We’ll see where it goes, but it looks good right now.”

The Bears kick off their season against the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field in a game that will showcase Justin Fields against Jordan Love. The NFC North is amid an arms race, with Fields and Love being the young guns in the division. The winner of Week 1’s showdown will set the narrative for the 2023 season, one in which Chicago Bears fans have high hopes.
