The Chicago Bears shared their first official depth chart of the 2023 season Tuesday, and there were a few minor surprises ahead of Week 1’s showdown against the Green Bay Packers.
Check it out:
This is the Bears depth chart for the Week 1 opener vs. Green Bay.
-Nathan Peterman is listed as the backup QB behind Justin Fields. Tyson Bagent is QB3 on the depth chart.

Undrafted rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent isn’t the backup after all, instead, the Bears opted to go with Nathan Peterman at QB2 for Week 1.
Veteran running back D’Onta Foreman held off Roschon Johnson for the RB2 job (for now), and Cody Whitehair will begin the season at left guard while Teven Jenkins rehabs on injured reserve. Lucas Patrick is the starting center.
There aren’t any surprises in the starting lineup (or even with the top reserves) on defense, but Velus Jones Jr. earning the kick returner duties will force some Chicago Bears fans to hold their breath.
