NFL Week 1 Best Bets: Falcons among 3 favorite picks of opening weekend (2023 Season)

Week 1 of the NFL season is here. It’s that special time of year when every fan base talks themselves into it being “their year.” It’s also that time of year when the gambling juices start flowing, and the parlays get rolling.

One of the new weekly segments I’ll write here at Bears Talk is the ‘Pick 3’. I will give insight into my favorite three bets of the week. The lines will be taken from FanDuel Sportsbook.

Without further adieu, let’s dive into our first one.

Fantasy Football Week 1

FALCONS -3.5 vs Panthers

The Falcons and Panthers are in rebuilding years and drafted future cornerstone pieces. During the preseason, the Panthers’ offensive line looked shaky at best, and the Falcons have two premier defensive linemen in Grady Jarrett and newcomer Calais Campbell. Sprinkle that in with Adam Theilen and Miles Sanders being banged up, along with a Brian Burns holdout, and the Falcons have too much talent not to take this one comfortably.

JAGUARS -4.5 vs Colts

This will be a fun game to watch—two pretty exciting QBs with creative head coaches. I think Shane Steichen has his work cut out for him, and drawing Doug Pederson out of the gate for his first game wasn’t the best fortune. The Jaguars are primed to have a breakout season, while the Colts have a rookie QB missing his top offensive weapon. I expect the Jaguars to win by a touchdown.

BEARS -1.5 vs Packers

Come on, did you expect anything else? Vegas is telling you they think the Packers are a slightly better team with the line, and I’m sure this Bears team noticed that. This team and fanbase have been waiting for this type of game for YEARS. It’s a game where Chicago feels better about its QB than the opposition. I think the energy at Solider Field will be electric, and it could get to Love if he struggles early. Couple that with Watson and Doubs not practicing on Wednesday, I think the stars are aligning for the Bears to break this Packer curse.
