VIDEO of every run and catch by Chicago Bears running back Roschon Johnson from Week 1’s loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Chicago Bears rookie running back Roschon Johnson was one of the lone bright spots in Week 1.
Despite losing to the Green Bay Packers 38-20, the Bears may have found their running back of the future in Johnson, who as selected in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
After spending most of his college career as Bijan Robinson’s backup, Johnsson’s scouting report praised his power running between the tackles and his ability as a receiver and pass protector in the passing game.
In Week 1, Johnson was the most explosive and physical runner on the Bears’ roster. He ended with five carries for 20 yards and a rushing touchdown and added a team-best six catches for 35 yards.
“He was in there at the very end, and he was catching checkdowns and had a couple nice runs, but I certainly like his style,” Matt Eberflus said Monday. “His style was really good, and that’s what he is. He’s a downhill, north(-south) guy, and he showed that yesterday. And he showed his physicality. He did that several times.”
