2023 Season
Bears guard Nate Davis OUT for Week 2 vs. Buccaneers
Chicago Bears vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneer: Bears guard Nat Davis won’t play in Week 2 due to personal reasons.
The Chicago Bears offensive line is quickly becoming a mash unit.
It’s a phrase usually reserved for a group of injured players. The Bears have been pretty lucky in that department. Only left guard Teven Jenkins is out with an injury, he should return in Week 5.
Still, he won’t be the only starter on the offensive line who’s out on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
According to multiple reports, right guard Nate Davis will miss the game for personal reasons.

Davis was signed by the Chicago Bears to a three-year, $30 million contract during the offseason and was viewed as one of the biggest upgrades on the roster. He missed most of training camp for various reasons and has yet to prove the investment the Bears made was wise.
The Tennessee Titans selected Davis in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft and he quickly developed into one of the top young guards in the league.
With Davis out, the Chicago Bears are expected to start either veteran Dan Feeney, who they acquired before the start of the season for a sixth-round pick, or Ja’Tyre Carter, who the Bears selected in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL draft.
Kickoff between the Bears and Buccaneers is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. CST (1:00 p.m. EST) from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
