2023 Season
Justin Fields earned PFF’s top grade on Bears offense in Week 3
Pro Football Focus Grades: Justin Fields earned the Chicago Bears’ highest score in Week 3’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chicago Bears offense was borderline offensive in Week 3’s 41-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. And whenever an offense looks as bad as Chicago’s did, the quarterback usually gets the blame.
But Bears fans are more intelligent than that. They didn’t blame Justin Fields for the Bears’ struggles, and apparently, they’re right.
According to Pro Football Focus’ Week 3 grades, Fields was the best player on Chicago’s offense against Kansas City. He scored a 71.6, which included a respectable 71.0 passing grade.
Justin Fields’ Week 3 PFF grade was, by far, his highest of the 2023 season. His previous high was in Week 1 when he scored a 60.9 against the Green Bay Packers.
As much as Bears fans want to support Fields, his Week 3 grade is still surprising. He completed 11-of-22 passes for just 99 yards. He threw one touchdown and an interception and added 47 rushing yards on 11 carries.
Justin Fields’ 2023 season is off to a slow start. He’s completed just 58% of his passes for 526 yards. He’s thrown three touchdowns to four interceptions and has only managed 109 rushing yards.
“I think these past couple of weeks have made me appreciate the little things in life, like being able to play this game,” Fields said after Sunday’s loss. ‘Every opportunity I get to go out there and play, I’m going to have fun.
‘I’m going to play my hardest and, you know, just thank God for giving me the ability to play. So, no matter what the scoreboard is, I’m going to keep doing the same mindset and just pushing to keep moving forward.”
