2023 Season
Week 4 NFL Best Bets: Philadelphia Eagles are an easy win
NFL Picks, Week 4: These three teams, including the Eagles and Seahawks, are strong bets for Week 4 of the 2023 season.
It’s hard to believe we are approaching the quarter mark of the 2023 NFL season.
Like the Chicago Bears, Week 3 was one to forget for my NFL picks. My year-to-date record stands at 4-5.
It could be worse, but it definitely could be better, too. Hopefully, this week’s picks will get us back to the winning side of the aisle.
Here are my favorite picks for Week 4.
Reminder: Lines taken from FanDuel Sportsbook.
EAGLES -8.5 vs. Commanders
The Eagles have the clear talent advantage, and the Commanders’ greatest strength (defensive line) is going up against arguably the best offensive line in football. Washington is also 22nd in the league in rushing yards allowed per game, while the Eagles currently rank second with 185 rushing yards per game on offense.
The Eagles will look to have another dominant day and control this game from start to finish.
CHARGERS -5.5 vs. Raiders
The Raiders’ defense has been pretty atrocious this season (21st in rushing yards allowed per game and 30th in opponent completion percentage per game).
Justin Herbert is coming off a game where he completed 85% of his passes, and despite losing Mike Williams to a torn ACL and Austin Ekeler still recovering from a high ankle sprain, there are plenty of weapons for Herbert to target.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Garoppolo is in the concussion protocol, which means if he can’t go, Raiders coach Josh McDaniels will turn to Brian Hoyer, who at one point last year was boasting a streak of 11 straight losses.
SEAHAWKS +1.5 vs. Giants
Two of the surprise teams from 2022 are trending in different directions to start the 2023 season.
After stumbling out of the gate against the Rams, the Seahawks have put together impressive wins over the Lions and Panthers back-to-back. The Giants, meanwhile, have gotten blown out twice and needed a historic comeback to beat the Cardinals.
Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet combined for 143 rushing yards last week and will look to continue that feast against a Giants team that is 29th in rushing yards per game allowed. The Seahawks will also look to get veteran safety Jamal Adams back this week. I see the Seahawks winning this one outright.
