Chicago Bears Prop Bets: Week 4 at Giants (2022 Season)

Two wins and one loss appear to be the theme of this column so far in the 2022 NFL season. The Chicago Bears have managed a 2-1 record, even with substandard on-field performance. I have also come in with back-to-back 2-1 weeks in my first foray as a sports betting writer. Not too shabby.

The Bears head to MetLife Stadium as a 3.5-point underdog on Sunday against the 2-1 New York Giants. It looks like another rainy day for Bears football, so let's see if we can make it rain with these bets.

Justin Fields over 35.5 rushing yards (-115)

The Bears' experience playing in poor weather should present an advantage on Sunday afternoon in East Rutherford. With running back David Montgomery sideline with a knee/ankle injury, the offense will need Fields to step up in multiple ways.

The Bears' passing game will improve eventually (fingers crossed), but the running game should continue to thrive on Sunday. Fields should have no issue reaching his number this week on the ground. Expect the Bears to get him outside the pocket with the freedom to take off if he sees open grass.

Khalil Herbert over 73.5 rushing yards (-120)

Herbert has hit his prop in each of the last two weeks, and we've had it in both games. There is no reason to stray from the path now. The number is higher, but Herbert is the starter this week. Add in that the Cowboys running backs gained 178 on the ground against these Giants last week. Even if the Bears try to get the passing game going, they won't sacrifice the success of the run game. Expect another big performance from Herbert.

Equanimeous St. Brown longest reception over 14.5 yards (-115)

This prop is undefeated this year, and there is no reason to think it will stop now. The Giants gave up multiple long opportunities last week, but they got bailed out by a CeeDee Lamb drop. It's hard to write up a blurb on this bet because it's the same deal as last week. The Bears might not have massive success throwing the ball, but St. Brown will find open space down the field at least once. The opportunity will present itself, and the Bears will capitalize.

Bonus Bet Longshot of the Week - Cole Kmet anytime TD scorer (+350)

I'll admit it. There is no statistical backing for this bet. The Bears' passing game is dead last in all of football. They haven't shown any promise through three games. My gut tells me this is the week it turns around, though. Fields and Kmet have had a decent connection during their time together, and quarterbacks fall back on their best relationship in the red zone. I think the coaching staff tries to force a passing touchdown early in the game, and Kmet will be the lucky recipient.
