2023 Season
How to watch, stream, and listen to Bears vs. Chargers Week 8 game
Here are all the ways to watch, stream, and listen to the Tyson Bagent-led Chicago Bears against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 8.
Tyson Bagent-Mania is coming to a primetime, national television audience in Week 8 when the Chicago Bears travel to Los Angeles to face the Chargers.
Bagent, the undrafted rookie from Division II Shepherd, has been the toast of Chicago since defeating the Raiders in Week 7. He was far from a superstar in the game, but his effective style of play has caused some Bears fans (and media members) to wonder whether he’s a better option for this team than Justin Fields.
Let that sink in for a minute. An undrafted Divison II quarterback has created a mini-QB controversy with the Ohio State star who was drafted 11th overall in 2021.
The Bears have a real-life David vs. Goliath in the quarterback room.
This is great news for Bears fans, regardless if you’re pro-Fields or pro-Bagent. The fact there are two quarterbacks sparking excitement in Chicago is a rarity. This isn’t your typical “the backup quarterback is the most popular guy in Chicago” storyline. Instead, Bagent is a really talented dude who may just be the Bears’ Golden Ticket. The Powerball. The Mega Millions.
Bagent will get his second start of the season against the Chargers because Justin Fields’ dislocated right thumb is still on the mend. Be honest … you’re glad he’s getting another start, right? It’s that whole curiosity thing. Maybe? Could he be? Is he really the guy?
We need a lot more on-field evidence before forming any reasonable Bagent opinion, and the only way we’ll get that evidence is if he starts games.
If Tyson Bagent comes out firing against the Chargers in front of a national audience, all bets are off for the Bears moving forward. The quarterback controversy will be in full bloom, even if Fields is targeting a Week 9 return against the Saints.
It will be must-see TV, and I have a hunch there will be a lot of non-Bears fans paying attention, too. Tyson Bagent has a chance to become the biggest story of the 2023 NFL season.
