The Chicago Bears are adding injury to insult as the 2023 NFL season marches on.

Check out the team’s latest Week 9 injury report:

Three critical starters — LB Tremaine Edmunds, G Nate Davis, and SAF Jaquan Brisker — all missed practice with injuries trending in the wrong direction.

Edmunds is dealing with a knee issue that nearly forced him out of Week 8’s loss to the Chargers. Davis continues to be slowed by an ankle injury, and Brisker’s bizarre concussion has him sidelined.

The Bears’ final injury report will be published tomorrow, but at this point, Chicago may be significantly undermanned in New Orleans.

There was some good news on the injury report, as Eddie Jackson logged his second full practice of the week. He’s been dealing with a foot injury that’s had him in and out of the lineup this year. Hopefully, he’ll be fully recovered in time for Sunday. Otherwise, the combination of Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave, and Michael Thomas may be too much to handle for what could be a backup safety tandem (again).

Left tackle Braxton Jones put in a limited practice session Thursday, which at least gives him a chance to make his return from injured reserve. He’s been out of the lineup for the last month with a neck injury. Center Lucas Patrick (back) is in line to start, too, with a second straight full practice.

Side note: We’re almost there, Bears fans. Our website is getting a facelift, and it’ll feature fan engagement tools and an option to turn off the (admittedly) annoying ads. Stay tuned!
