2023 Season
How to watch, stream, and listen to Bears vs. Panthers Week 10 game
Here are all the ways you can catch the Chicago Bears vs. Carolina Panthers Week 10 Thursday night game.
It’s been another bizarre week for the Chicago Bears. The sad part is it never should’ve been. But when head coach Matt Eberflus did his best Michael Scott impression when trying to give an update on Justin Fields’ injury, the reality that this organization is much closer to being a joke than a serious contender set in.
Eberflus couldn’t get his story straight. He started by saying Fields won’t play against the Carolina Panthers Thursday night, then said he’s doubtful … which, according to Eberlfus, means there’s a 51% chance he won’t play. Maybe he will play? Who knows.
You can watch the entire press conference here.
It’s more likely (and expected) that rookie Tyson Bagent will make his fourth start of the season and second appearance in front of a national primetime audience. He’ll have an easier matchup this time around. Unlike Week 8’s tough draw against the Los Angeles Chargers, Bagent will battle an average Panthers defense without its best pass rusher, Brian Burns.
Watching the quarterback selected first overall in the 2023 NFL Draft — Bryce Young — battle Bagent, an undrafted rookie from Divison II’s Shepherd University, will be fascinating. It’s incredible to think the Chicago Bears are favorites in this game despite what should be such a lopsided quarterback matchup.
Unfortunately for the Panthers, it isn’t lopsided at all. In fact, Bagent has looked better than Young this year.
Crazy.
If Tyson Bagent outshines Young on Thursday night, the calls for him to remain the Chicago Bears’ starter for the rest of the 2023 season will grow even louder than they are now. And why shouldn’t they? It doesn’t matter how the Bears found Bagent, if he’s playing better than the first overall pick and has arguably been the second-best rookie quarterback this season, keep rolling him out there.
We’re at least four quarters away from an earth-shattering decision like that being made. And you have to make sure you’re tuned in Thursday night to watch the drama unfold.
