49ers Klint Kubiak added to list of Bears’ offensive coordinator candidates
The Chicago Bears have requested permission to interview Klint Kubiak for their vacant offensive coordinator position.
The list of candidates that the Chicago Bears have requested permission to interview for their vacant offensive coordinator position is now up to two.
First, it was Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. Now, it’s San Francisco 49ers passing game coordinator, Klint Kubiak.

The Bears aren’t messing around with the early wave of candidates. They’ve identified coaches who have connections to Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan, two of the best offensive minds in the NFL.
Kubiak has bounced around the league the last few seasons, spending 2019 with the Minnesota Vikings as their quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator (2021) before heading to Dever in 2022 to serve as the Broncos’ passing game coordinator. He joined Shanahan’s staff in San Francisco prior to the 2023 season.
Klint Kubiak’s work with Kirk Cousins and Brock Purdy should have Bears fans excited for what he could do for Justin Fields (or Caleb Williams, or Drake Maye) in 2024 and beyond.
The Chicago Bears will continue adding to their list of candidates in the coming days, but I’d assume a new offensive coordinator will be hired pretty soon.
