Bears to interview Kliff Kingsbury as Caleb Williams momentum builds
The Chicago Bears will interview Kliff Kingsbury for their offensive coordinator position, sparking more speculation that Caleb Williams will be the team’s choice at No. 1 overall.
The Chicago Bears’ list of potential offensive coordinator candidates just added its highest-profile name and one that could have major implications on who’s playing quarterback for the team in 2024.
The Bears will interview former Arizona Cardinals head coach and current USC senior offensive analyst and quarterbacks coach, Kliff Kingsbury.

Kingsbury’s connection to Caleb Williams levels up the speculation that the Bears will move on from Justin Fields and select the former Heisman Trophy winner with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. And if they’re moving in that direction, adding a coach like Kingsbury, who has a pre-existing relationship with Williams, makes sense.
Kliff Kingsbury’s last stop in the NFL was as head coach of the Cardinals, where he totaled a 28-37-1 record over four seasons. He signed a six-year contract extension with Arizona in 2022 but was terminated at the end of that season after finishing 4-13.
Perhaps his interview with the Chicago Bears has two purposes: to see if he’s the right man for the job and to gather more intel on Wiliams. I doubt the Bears would be borderline deceitful in their interview practices, but you never know.
If Kliff Kingsbury becomes Chicago’s next offensive coordinator, there’s no doubt Caleb Williams will be the team’s next starting quarterback, too.
