NFL Draft
Caleb Williams delivers strong message to potential Bears teammates
The presumptive No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft had a strong message for his potential future teammates on the Chicago Bears.
Caleb Williams held his 2024 NFL Combine media session Friday, and he checked every conceivable box that Chicago Bears GM Ryan Poles could’ve had for him.
Williams spoke with confidence and articulated what kind of teammate and competitor he is.
You can bet Bears players were listening.

“A person that cares for his teammates,” Williams said. “Some of y’all may have seen, some of y’all may have not. I try to take care of all my guys no matter if you’ve been fourth on the depth chart or you’re the star player. So I care for my teammates and the other part is I’m a fierce competitor as you may have seen after some games.”
Williams was impressed by Poles and coach Matt Eberflus during his meeting with the Bears, too, calling them “awesome.”

Caleb Williams also showed off some of his personality when he stood among media members and launched questions at his former USC teammate, Brenden Rice.
Take note of the dynamic between Rice and Williams. It’s something Poles will certainly do. The banter is evidence of Williams’ relationship with his teammates, which should dispel some concerns surrounding the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner.

The Chicago Bears are expected to trade Justin Fields within the next few days and formally commit the No.1 pick to Williams, assuming nothing crazy happens between now and the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft on April 25.
