The Chicago Bears are expected to select USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and, as a result, trade Justin Fields to the highest bidder.

Unfortunately, general manager Ryan Poles might not get the bids he hopes for.

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the market for Justin Fields isn’t “robust.”

Schefter appeared on the Pat McAfee Show on Monday and shared the latest intel on the Chicago Bears’ attempt to trade Fields.

It seems like a long time ago that Mel Kiper Jr. thought the Bears could land a first-round pick for Justin Fields. Now, it feels like they might not get a second-rounder.

Poles has his work cut out for him if he wants to get a Fields trade done by the time the legal tampering window opens on March 11. If Fields remains on the Chicago Bears roster into the free agency signing period, and QB-needy teams like the Atlanta Falcons make a power move for Kirk Cousins or another soon-to-be free-agent passer, the already light market for Fields will get even lighter.

Could we be steamrolling toward Justin Fields and Caleb Williams being on the Bears roster together?

Let’s hope not.
