Justin Fields Trade Market is Quickly Disappearing
The Justin Fields trade market continues disappearing with the Seattle Seahawks trade for Commanders quarterback Sam Howell.
The trade market for Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields continues to disappear before our eyes.
The Seattle Seahawks recently emerged as a team that could add Fields in an attempt to create competition for Geno Smith. While the concept made sense and was actually true, it was shortlived. The Seahawks pivoted to Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell and struck a deal for him instead.
Another QB trade: Commanders are sending last year’s starter Sam Howell to the Seahawks in a pick swap, per sources.

If you’re a Bears fan who wants GM Ryan Poles to select Caleb Williams with the first overall pick, it might be time to start getting concerned.
There hasn’t been a moment during this offseason that I thought there was any chance the Chicago Bears wouldn’t select Williams with the first pick, but as time goes on, and more quarterback transactions occur with Fields on the Bears roster, the more possible it becomes that Poles will trade out. There aren’t many Justin Fields suitors left, and by the time the Bears meet with Caleb Williams and get his medicals, there may not be any.
What happens then? Have the Chicago Bears had their sights set on trading the No. 1 pick this whole time? If that were the case, you’d think they would’ve pulled the trigger already, much like they did before the 2023 NFL Draft. Their actions this offseason suggest they’re leaning toward drafting Williams, but there’s a growing sense that Fields might stick around.
Perhaps Poles already has an agreement in place to trade Fields (once Williams’ medicals check out) to a team like the Philadelphia Eagles for Josh Sweat. Far-fetched? Maybe. But, at this point, anything’s possible.
The only thing the Chicago Bears have managed to do this offseason is expand the grey Poles said he wanted to avoid. It’s bizarre. And Bears fans hope it ends with a resolution (one way or the other) soon.
