Twitter Reacts to Bears Trading Justin Fields
Here’s what fans on Twitter had to say about the Chicago Bears trading Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Chicago Bears traded quarterback Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday in a move that was both expected and shocking.
With Fields on his way to Pittsburgh, the Bears will turn their attention to USC quarterback Caleb Williams as the presumptive No. 1 overall pick.
Social media has been a dangerous place for Chicago Bears fans to visit this offseason, as the pro-Fields vs. pro-Williams Civil War has been raging for weeks.
Thankfully, the war is over, but the Twitter reactions were in full force after news of the trade broke.
Here are some of the noteworthy responses:
There’s no question the Bears unequivocally failed Justin Fields…
That can’t drive the decision here though, unfortunately. Goes to one of the most stable and consistent organizations in the NFL, hope he balls out

Am I the only one that thinks that both the Bears and Steelers are dumb as hell in this trade?
Caleb Williams is going to be a flop.
Justin Fields is better than Russ Wilson right now.
Bears could’ve added a weapon instead of another bust. You’d think they would’ve learned…— RamboMizzou (@RamboMizzou) March 16, 2024
Gardner Minshew’s worth $25 million over 2 years.
Jimmy Garoppolo’s worth $45 million in guarantees (or not).
Derek Carr’s worth $100 million in guarantees.Justin Fields … conditional 6th.

I’m rooting for Justin Fields. He’s done nothing to deserve all this hate. He was in a bad situation. Now he gets a fresh start to prove himself. Hope he takes advantage of this opportunity when his # is called.

Justin Fields not being one of the 32 starting QBs in the NFL would be a crime.

Three of my biggest QB prospect whiffs:
1: Justin Fields would be THAT DUDE
2: Justin Herbert was Turbisky 2.0
3: Tua had the highest ceiling of his draft class pic.twitter.com/pGt8bzO4vo— Joshua Ray/NFL Draft SZN (@Josh_Ray_A) March 16, 2024

Attention all #Bears fans: It’s time to unite. The Civil War is over. No one cares what your takes were. No one cares if you were in Fields’ corner or Williams’. We’re ALL Bears fans. No cashing receipts. No talking shit.
Let’s rally around QB-next. pic.twitter.com/SQvbFVL42Y
