The Chicago Bears will travel to a pair of notable Pro Days later this week. General manager Ryan Poles will be present for LSU’s Pro Day (3/27), where he’ll observe Heisman-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels. Poles won’t be at North Carolina’s Pro Day on March 28, but members of the Bears’ front office and coaching staff will travel to analyze quarterback Drake Maye. Poles confirmed the news to Adam Jahns of The Athletic at this week’s annual NFL owners meetings.

It’s somewhat interesting that Poles isn’t personally traveling to Chapel Hill for Maye’s Pro Day. The consensus second-ranked QB, it’s possible that offensive coordinator Shane Waldron will be on hand. Various members of the scouting are also expected to be present.

The Bears will also host USC quarterback Caleb Williams on an in-person visit. That means within the next few days, the Bears will spend extensive time with Williams, Maye, and Daniels, the draft’s consensus top three quarterback prospects. The Bears are leaving no stone unturned throughout the pre-draft process.

Poles and Co. continue to do their due diligence on all top-ranked quarterback prospects despite the heavy expectation that Williams will be Chicago’s No. 1 overall pick. With the 2024 NFL Draft approximately a full month away, there’s good reason for Chicago to continue analyzing Maye and Daniels. In addition to those two, several prospects at both programs are worth watching in person, including LSU receivers Brian Thomas Jr. and Malik Nabers, who could be options at No. 9 overall.
