New report has Bears’ sights set on this wide receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft
The Chicago Bears are expected to add a wide receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft, and if this new report is true, they’ll target one at No. 9 overall.
According to a report from ESPN 1000’s Dave Kaplan, the Chicago Bears “love” first-round wide receiver prospect Malik Nabers in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Bears attended LSU’s Pro Day last week on March 27 and reportedly came away enamored with Nabers, per comments made by Kaplan on YouTube.
“I can tell you the Bears love Malik Nabers, the wide receiver,” Kaplan said on his YouTube channel. “Early observations were very, very positive,” Kaplan concluded.
Nabers is in contention to be the first receiver drafted alongside Marvin Harrison Jr. Navers totaled 89 receptions for 1,569 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns for the Tigers throughout the 2023 campaign. Nabers further increased his pre-draft stock by displaying ridiculous athleticism on his Pro Day. The 6-foot, 200-pound receiver ran a 4.35 40, and also leaped a 42 inch vertical jump and 10-foot-9 broad jump.

It’s easy to understand why Nabers is allegedly appealing to the Bears. Pairing his route-running prowess, explosiveness, and elite short-area quickness with Caleb Williams would give the Bears a high-level connection at quarterback-wideout for years to come. It would qualify as a minor surprise if Nabers remained available at No. 9 overall, but stranger things have happened.
Malik Nabers giving the whole, I’d be happy to be drafted anywhere, but did seem excited of possibility of being paired with Caleb Williams. “I talk to Caleb all the time.” @cbschicago

Nabers has spoken about his personal relationship with Williams at length throughout the pre-draft process. “I talk to Caleb all the time,” Nabers told 670 The Score on March 1. “We started playing Call of Duty with each other, and then that relationship, when you’re a football player and you’re able to connect with another football player, it’s just like your brother really.”
