2024 Mock Draft: Bears trade Justin Fields, land new QB, WR in Round 1 (NFL Draft)

The Chicago Bears will host Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze on a pre-draft visit. According to a report from Ian Rapoport, Odunze is visiting Halas Hall on Thursday. The Bears are permitted to host 30 players at their facility via in-person visits. That signals legitimate interest in Odunze.

Odunze was a dominant producer for an explosive Huskies offense this past season that qualified for the National Championship Game. Odunze was a go-to playmaker, totaling 92 receptions for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns. Odunze is viewed as an elite prospect at the receiver position alongside Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers.

Odunze also tested extremely well at the NFL Combine. The Las Vegas, Nevada native ran the 40-yard dash in a blazing-fast 4.45 seconds, an outstanding result for a 6-foot-2, 212-pound playmaker. Odunze leaped a 39-inch vertical and 10-foot-4 broad. The Huskies standout also ran a 4.03 shuttle.

A consensus top-10 prospect, Odunze is a potential target with the No. 9 overall selection. Pairing Odunze with D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen would quickly give the Bears one of the most exciting receiving trios in the National Football League. Drafting Odunze would be a great way to set up rookie quarterback Caleb Williams for immediate success.

Odunze is a big-bodied vertical playmaker. He consistently dominated the catch point at Washington, turning 50-50 balls into 75-25. Williams would appreciate having a dominant X-receiver a la Odunze at his disposal.
