Bears safety Eddie Jackson posts heartfelt goodbye to Chicago
Longtime Chicago Bears safety took to Instagram to say goodbye to the team and city that drafted him.
Goodbyes in the NFL are never easy, but sometimes, you just know when it’s time to part ways. In the case of the Chicago Bears and Eddie Jackson, it was clear at the end of the 2023 NFL season that the time to say goodbye was now.
Jackson’s career in Chicago ended after seven seasons, 100 starts, and a whole lot of big plays. He totaled 15 interceptions and six defensive touchdowns and was once considered one of the best safeties in the league.
Injuries and a bloated contract ultimately caught up with him, and Bears GM Ryan Poles decided it was the end of the road. Eddie Jackson was released in February and remains unsigned.
On Tuesday, Jackson posted his farewell to the Chicago Bears organization and the fans.
