Jets star Sauce Gardner is a big fan of the Chicago Bears’ 2024 offseason
New York Jets cornerback Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Gardner is a big fan of the Chicago Bears’ offseason moves.
The Chicago Bears aren’t the traditional team that ends an NFL season with the first overall pick. After finishing the second half of the 2023 season with a 5-3 record, the Bears (7-10) hold the ninth pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. They were a few bad breaks and absolute meltdowns away from being a playoff team, making that top-10 selection something of an unjust enrichment for a roster that’s already close to playoff caliber.
But that’s not really the story. Instead, the fact that this team also has the first overall pick (thanks to the trade GM Ryan Poles made with the Carolina Panthers before the 2023 NFL draft) and is on the precipice of selecting the most talented quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck has NFL stars noticing.

“How do Chicago got two top-10 picks on top of the talent they already got?” Gardner tweeted. “Who did they fleece? (All I do is wake up and play football, IDK what be going on trade/draft wise).”
Game recognizes game. And in this case, it’s Poles whose roster-building game has been on point.
