Bears’ new DC impressed with defense’s attitude during OTAs
Eric Washington likes what he’s seeing from his Chicago Bears defense so far this offseason.
The Chicago Bears still have the same head coach in place heading into the 2024 season, but Matt Eberflus will have a new leader for his defense this year in Eric Washington, who was hired as the team’s new defensive coordinator back in January.
Washington is finally getting a chance to see his unit on the field during last week’s Organized Team Activities (OTAs), and so far, he likes the early returns when it comes to their attitude:
While much of the focus this offseason has been on the offensive additions the Bears have made, their success will still depend greatly on how well the defense can play as they break in a new rookie quarterback on the other side of the ball in Caleb Williams.
If that attitude translates to dominance on the field once the regular season rolls around, Washington will be one happy camper.
