June 24th is a special day in Chicago Bears history.

Though the origins of the franchise date back to 1919, it was on this day in 1922 that the team formerly known as the Decatur Staleys (and then the Chicago Staleys) officially became the Chicago Bears (via the Pro Football Hall of Fame):

The Bears have remained one of the most iconic franchises not just in NFL history, but in all of professional sports.
