Former Bears LB Lance Briggs has high praise for Jaylon Johnson

If there’s anyone in Chicago Bears history who knows a thing or two about playing defense at a high level, Lance Briggs is a solid bet.

A seven-time Pro Bowler who spent his entire 12-year career in the NFL with the Bears, Briggs knows an elite defender when he sees one, and that’s exactly what he sees in current Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson.

Johnson is coming off an impressive 2023 campaign, and was rewarded with a long-term contract extension that makes him one of the highest-paid defensive backs in the league.

If the Bears are able to push for a playoff spot this season, the defense will be a big reason why, and Johnson’s shutdown presence at corner will once again be a driving force behind the entire unit’s success.
