What makes Bears rookie WR Rome Odunze tick?
Hear from Odunze’s former position coach at Washington.
The Chicago Bears landed a pair of elite talents for their offense at the top of the 2024 NFL draft, pairing quarterback Caleb Williams at the No. 1 overall pick with wide receiver Rome Odunze, the No. 9 overall selection in the first round.
Odunze would have easily been the first receiver off the board in most drafts as a top-five pick, but the Bears got lucky thanks to a loaded receiver class that featured other elite talents like Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers.
So, what are the Bears getting in Odunze?
Who better to ask than JaMarcus Shephard, who was Odunze’s position coach at Washington:
Williams will have a pair of star veterans in D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen to throw to this season, but Odunze will likely be his long-term No. 1 receiver throughout his career in Chicago.
