Former Bears safety reflects on Super Bowl era
Gary Fencik shares his unique perspective on the Chicago Bears’ glory days.
The Mike Ditka era was a legendary one for the Chicago Bears, featuring tons of success, iconic personalities, and the only Super Bowl victory in franchise history.
Gary Fencik had a front-row seat for all of it, playing safety for the Bears from 1976 through 1987.
One a recent episode of the “Bears, etc.” podcast, Fencik talked about his experiences during that time, playing alongside Hall of Famer Steve McMichael, being coached by Ditka, and being a part of that legendary 1985 defense that brought home the Lombardi Trophy:
