Bears betting favorite to sign former NFC North rival
This would be a puzzling move for the Bears if it actually ends up happening.
The Chicago Bears have made a point to invest in their offensive line this offseason, improving the unit with veteran additions and through the 2024 NFL draft.
But would they look for another experienced blocker who’s still available, and one who spent his entire career with the Bears’ most hated rival?
It looks like the current betting odds have pegged the Bears as the favorite to sign former Green Bay Packers offensive tackle David Bakhtiari:
The Bears are the current betting favorites to sign former Packer David Bakhtiari according to BetOnline.
That wouldn’t make much sense. He is a 5 time All-pro but he’s played in 13 games over the last 3 seasons and is turning 33 in September. #DaBears #Bears #ChicagoBears

Usually, it can be alluring to fans for their favorite team to add a big name to the roster. But in this case, it’s a move that would be puzzling for the current Bears.
Braxton Jones has been solid at left tackle, and Darnell Wright looks like a stud on the right side. The Bears also just invested an early pick in this year’s draft in Kiran Amegadjie, who has starter potential.
I’m not sure what’s pushing the odds in Chicago’s favor on this one, but it doesn’t make much sense.
