Bears add promising pass rusher in early 2025 NFL mock draft
This early first-round projection for next year’s draft has the Bears addressing a big position of need.
It’s never too early to look ahead to next year’s NFL draft, and the folks over at Draft Wire have a fresh 2025 NFL mock draft to break down.
This early first-round projection has the Chicago Bears picking at No. 19 overall, which would mean they made the playoffs, which is a win right away for Bears fans. But with that pick, this mock has Chicago taking a talented edge rusher in Nic Scourton out of Texas A&M.
A transfer from Purdue, Scourton posted 10 sacks for the Boilermakers last season. Listed at 6-4, 280 pounds, Scourton has the ideal frame and well-rounded skill set as both a pass rusher and run defender that would make him an ideal fit in Matt Eberflus’ scheme in Chicago.
Other players who went after the Bears’ pick in this projection but would also make sense for Chicago were Georgia edge defender Mykel Williams, Michigan defensive lineman Kenneth Grant, and Ohio State defensive lineman Tyleik Williams.
