Bears place rookie OT Kiran Amegadjie on NFI list
Chicago Bears rookie offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie appears slated to begin training camp on the NFI list
The Chicago Bears rookie class have arrived at Halas Hall for the start of training camp. First-round picks Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze signed their rookie contracts just in time. Unfortunately, it’s not all good news. The Bears placed rookie offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie on the non-football injury (NFI) list. Undrafted rookie defensive end Jamree Kromrah was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list as well.
The Bears placed third-round pick Kiran Amegadjie on the non-football injury list and undrafted rookie DE Jamree Kromah on the physically-unable-to-perform list.

Amegadjie is recovering from a quad injury he suffered while in college. It didn’t discourage general manager Ryan Poles from utilizing his third-round selection on the Yale blocker. Amegadjie also missed OTAs and mandatory minicamp with the same injury.
Head coach Matt Eberflus had previously expressed optimism that Amegadjie would be ready for training camp back in June. Though he can be activated off the NFI list at any moment, this indicates Amegadjie is slated to miss the first few practices of 2024 training camp. Eberflus’ hopeful timeline didn’t prove correct.
The NFI list is for players who suffer injuries away from the team facility, hence Amegadjie’s injury occurring at Yale. When it comes to Kromah, he’s been placed on the PUP list due to an injury that occurred during spring practices. All Bears rookies reported to camp on Tuesday, and the veterans are scheduled to report on Friday.
