One question on every Chicago Bears fan’s mind is how many reps rookie quarterback Caleb Williams will get in preseason games this summer.

Head coach Matt Eberflus met with reporters Friday and shared the team’s tentative preseason plan for Williams.

“We’ve looked at it, we’re discussing it, we haven’t made any decisions, we certainly want to get him some reps,” Eberflus said. “I know the guys last year got 45 to 55 reps, and we’re looking at that right in that range, we’ll see. But again, it’s always week to week because you’ve got to see what the health of your line is and where everybody is, but certainly all of those exposures are equally as valuable.”

Remember: the Bears play an extra preseason game this summer (the Hall of Fame game), bringing their total to four. If Williams plays 55 snaps, he’ll get between 13 to 14 per game.

I imagine the Bears will start him in the Hall of Fame game. He’ll probably play just one series, leaving most of those 55 snaps spread across a regular three-game preseason schedule.
