Aaron Rodgers throws more shade at Chicago Bears
Aaron Rodgers can’t seem to move on from his rivalry with the Chicago Bears.
It looks like Aaron Rodgers can’t help himself when it comes to talking trash about his former rivals, the Chicago Bears. He appeared on “Pardon My Take,” and when the subject of the Bears’ offseason moves came up, he was ready with his opinions.
Aaron Rodgers on today’s @PardonMyTake about the Bears’ offseason:
“I think the team is almost good enough to beat the Packers. Almost good enough.”@PFTCommenter: “Do you still take any pleasure when the Packers beat the Bears?”
Rodgers: “I love it, yeah.” pic.twitter.com/e5xtR3oeqs

Ouch. A bit harsh, but if anyone has earned the right to mock a former rival, it’s Rodgers. As the starting quarterback in Green Bay, he went 24-5 against Chicago, including winning nine of their last ten matchups. Perhaps the only other quarterback to dominate a division rival so completely is the greatest of all time. Tom Brady went 33-3 against the Buffalo Bills in his career.
However, as a silver lining to Bears fans, Rodgers did concede that he likes a lot of what the Bears have done so far to support rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, calling out rookie receiver Rome Odunze by name, and even said that he likes Williams. That would surely be music to the ears of Williams, who grew up as a big fan of Rodgers.
The “Pardon My Take” hosts did give Rodgers a bit of a ribbing in return. They tongue-in-cheek suggested that Rodgers got out of Green Bay just in time so he wouldn’t have to take any losses to Williams and these new-look Bears. I’m sure some Chicago Bears fans would have liked to see Williams outduel their hated nemesis just once, but, to be perfectly honest, it wouldn’t have changed anything. Had Rodgers finished 24-7 against the Bears instead of 24-5, he still would not have been lying when he infamously yelled “I still own you” to Bears fans at Soldier Field.
Going forward, the best that Bears fans can hope for is that they can experience what it’s like to have a quarterback that thoroughly owns a division rival. Can Williams be that guy? We’ll find out soon. All we can say for now is that he has a lot of believers in the NFL world.
