The eighth practice of Chicago Bears training camp is in the books, this time a closed practice held indoors. After back-to-back practices that the offense would rather forget, Caleb Williams and his crew rebounded nicely on Monday.

Here are some of the main takeaways from Day 8 of Bears training camp.

Caleb Williams is rounding into form.

On Saturday, Williams had a particularly rough day that included back-to-back interceptions. On Monday, he was much sharper and more decisive and threw two encouraging touchdowns, including an anticipatory throw in traffic to fellow rookie Rome Odunze.

Offense is cleaning up its act

During the weekend practices, the offense was penalized multiple times. On Monday, that was cleaned up.

Zero false starts. Yes, that matters.

Key starters are still not practicing.

With preseason games rapidly approaching, it’s time to start worrying just a little about a couple of key starters, most notably Kyler Gordon and Nate Davis. Neither has been practicing recently due to injuries. They don’t sound like major injuries, but whatever the issues are, they’re causing these guys to miss valuable reps.

Davis especially can’t afford to miss much more practice. He’s on thin ice.
