Bears WR Collin Johnson is putting on a show in preseason opener
The big-bodied pass-catcher has found the end zone twice in the Hall of Fame game.
NFL preseason games might not mean anything when it comes to win/loss records and winning championships when it actually matters, but for players who are closer to the bottom of the roster, they represent an opportunity to prove they belong at the pro level.
The Chicago Bears have their first breakout performer of this year’s exhibition slate, as wide receiver Collin Johnson is already putting on a show in Thursday night’s Hall of Fame Game against the Houston Texans in Canton, Ohio.
Johnson’s first three receptions of the night have gone for 56 yards and a pair of touchdowns:

The Bears have a deep group of pass-catchers at the top of the depth chart, but if Johnson keeps up this level of play, it’ll be hard to keep him on the final 53-man roster heading into the regular season.
